I think providing many opportunities for students to learn is going to be beneficial for both teachers and students. The more technology resources we have the more options we have for teaching and learning. I think having these resources opens to many doors for all different types of learners. I think 3D printing with be extremely beneficial for visual, kinesthetic, logical, and spatial learners. 3D printing allows for more opportunities with hands-on learning.
In the video on MakerBot's website, Andrea Zermeno introduces the product and gives the advantages of 3D printing and the skill gained from it. MakerBot strives for educators and students to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Students in the current generation are already so familiar with the "3D virtual space" with videos games and movies, so they take to the 3D printing quickly. Students begin to build their digital literacy through these projects.
I think 3D printing provides many opportunities for different styles of learning and a more technological approach. It can be used at any age level and any subject. I think it is beneficial for any grade level. It is a easy to use resource and allows the material being taught to become visual and hands on.
Providing many opportunities to students is really one of the important goals for schools, where students can expand their horizon and open up more considerations!
